Attractive content creation thanks to Pimcore's intuitive user interface
Orthomol is one of the clients we have been working with for several years. After an extensive relaunch and redesign of the company's website, the content was migrated from Sitecore to the Pimcore platform. With the Pimcore DXP, managing and modifying content is easier and more flexible; in addition, the planning and implementation of content can be managed more efficiently and effectively.




A flexible solution for a highly specialised industry
Founded by Dr Kristian Glagau, the family business Orthomol has been developing and marketing micronutrient combinations for over 30 years. The innovative family business, headquartered in Langenfeld, employs 500 people and is represented in over 30 countries. With over 40 products, Orthomol is the market leader in the field of orthomolecular medicine.
Following an analysis and conceptualisation phase, Krankikom began with the redesign and relaunch of the company website. It had to be taken into account that the company and the Orthomol brand serve both a complex and highly specialised business area, where it has already become a defining name.
The client defined several focal points for the redesign of the website, which were to be realised.
Efficient and transparent management of operational processes
Orthomol's wish list included a user-friendly CMS interface to create the basis for efficient collaboration. In addition to an intuitive user interface, the system also had to be as flexible as possible and meet the special requirements in the areas of personalisation, 360-degree marketing, DAM integration and a clear rights-role concept.

Focus on economic efficiency
Auch un terms of financial and economic aspects, it is worth switching to an open source system, which reduces acquisition costs and at the same time minimises the risk of follow-up costs for later adaptations. The dependency on licences can also be avoided.
Thanks to Pimcore's multisite and multilingual system, content and products are available in any number of languages and in significantly less time; the "time to market" margin is reduced by 75 percent, which increases productivity and reduces costs. This also avoids the problem of duplicate data storage.
The management of product data in Pimcore enables simple and intuitive usability and maintenance of content; in addition, all product data is made available for omnichannel use, such as the Orthomol app, via a GraphQL API.
Focus on customer loyalty
The challenge was to seamlessly integrate the My Orthomol area with loyalty bonus programme into the existing website, based on an already established concept from the native app. Existing interfaces to Salesforce (CRM) and Azure (pack codes & product data) had to be integrated efficiently.
Our solution: The technical implementation and optimisation of the web integration in Pimcore, which provides the app with product data. Through close coordination with the existing systems and smooth interface communication, we were able to create a high-performance and user-friendly extension that strengthens customer loyalty and optimally supports the Orthomol loyalty programme.
Focus on optimal usability: Our redesign with Krankikom makes the product presentation more intuitive, interactive and networked. Custom colours, targeted filters, 3D packshots and compact key facts ensure an optimal user experience.

Result:
The switch to the Pimcore system allows different authors to create content, which not only increases the degree of content personalisation, but also minimises the creation and installation effort.
The authors have control over the design and appearance of the content at all times. Different preview modes show how the content behaves on different end devices. Features can be added more quickly and the ‘time-to-market’ span has been reduced. The high level of interface compatibility and the use of DXP/CMS, PIM, Salesforce and Premira also enabled valuable synergy effects to be utilised. The fact that Pimcore is based on open source frameworks such as Symfony means that maintenance and compliance with security requirements are also possible in the long term. The risk of vendor lock-in is minimised and potential licence fees are eliminated, creating an additional price advantage.
The higher visibility of the site leads to an increase in site visitors; the stimulating content and appealing design entice visitors to linger and browse the Orthomol pages for longer.
