With the integration of “Appschmiede Darmstadt”, a software company specialising in mobile apps, the Duisburg-based Krankikom GmbH has, with effect from 1 January 2017, significantly expanded its existing capacity and competences in iOS and android development, at the same time establishing a presence in the Rhine-Main area.
Founded in 2009, Krankikom’s app development team of twelve now deal with individual software development as well as everything related to the life cycle of mobile apps. This includes, in particular: consultancy, planning, implementation, support and hosting; and access is also now available, as and when required, to Krankikom’s wide range of competences in digital developments and services. In addition, Krankikom’s traditional customers can also benefit, in terms of digital transformation, from the specialist expertise in app development which the Darmstadt team brings us. Appschmiede’s major customers have included, for example: Deutsche Telekom; MLP, a financial services provider; SC Freiburg, a football club in the German Bundesliga; and Faist Chemtec.
Thomas Kiesl, the founder of Appschmiede, sees the merger as a new development stage for his company, commenting: “Appschmiede has a highly specialised development team for purely native apps. The merger means we can now benefit from the support of an outstanding design and web development team at Krankikom and provide a significantly broader range of services. In addition, Krankikom also has some very interesting customers and here we see great potential for new and exciting projects.” Kiesl, as director of the Darmstadt office, will remain the contact person for customers in the Rhine-Main area and manage the development team based there with responsibility for their further development.
Alexander Kranki, Krankikom’s managing director adds: “What Thomas Kiesl and his team have built up in the last seven years is very impressive. So we’re convinced that we can build on what they’ve set up and, in the next few years, make Darmstadt the second string to our bow to deliver the challenging projects with which we’ll support our customers in their digital transformation.”
